Does client need to turn on "site search categories" in Google Analytics?

Hi,
I requested a client grant read-only access for the Answers Free trial. She said, “I sent through the Google Analytics & Google Search Console invitations. I turned ‘Site Search’ to on with query. Do I also need ‘Site Search Categories’ on?”

Please let me know if I need to request she turns on Site Search Categories too.

Hi Jessica,

Based on the guidance below from Google Analytics, we should not advise clients to turn on Site Search Categories. Yext Answers doesn’t append additional URL parameters for internal search categories so a client does not need to set this up in order to get the most out of their set up.
