A client is interested in updating the CTA URL field with the mailto: operation, but the platform does not recognize it as a valid URL. Similarly, the HTML mailto: operation does not work.
As a short term solution, our engineering team can pull from a single line text field, but this would potentially accept broken links so this is not an ideal solution.
Is there a way to support these mailto: tags for URL fields moving forward?

I am assuming your question relates to the use of CTAs within Answers. If you are using the Call to Action field, you can just set the link type to “Email” and enter the associated email address like so:
The mailto: operation will be handled automatically within the CTA once you build the Answers page.
If you are using the CTA field for a different Yext product, could you please share those details? What type of field are you using?
