Knowledge Graph validation on postal code, fax, and phone numbers

Hi team! My client is trying to push data for various fields via ETL to the Yext platform, but we’re receiving quite a few API errors for these fields. The client is using Hotel Entities.

We are receiving errors for the following fields:

• Postal codes
• Fax numbers
• Phone numbers

I have 3 questions on each of these fields:

• What are the specific data validation criteria in KG for these fields?
• Are there different validation criteria depending on the country/region?
• Is the field required for a Hotel Entity to be created?

How are you sending the data? It might make sense to reach out to our API support team for this so they can dig in to specific examples.

Here’s some high level answers to your questions:

• Postal code validation is a country-specific regex. What countries are your entities in?

• Fax number and phone number validation use Google’s libphonenumber validation which is also country specific, you can find this library here: GitHub - google/libphonenumber: Google's common Java, C++ and JavaScript library for parsing, formatting, and validating international phone numbers.. If the country code is different from the entity’s country, then you’ll need to provide it explicitly.

• The address field is required for hotel entity types, but the phone and fax numbers are not.
