Twitter Posting | Yext Hitchhikers Platform
Overview
Users can connect their Twitter account with Yext, and post to their Twitter timeline using the Yext social posting tool.
Tweets can include a caption and a single photo.
Supported Features
Through Yext, users have the ability to:
- Create a post with a caption and single photo
- Delete a post
- View insights on posts such as impressions and engagement.
- Additional details on insight availability is listed below.
Setup and Linked Acount Management
Link Account
A Twitter account must be linked with Yext in order to create posts. For steps to link your Twitter account with Yext, visit our How to Link Twitter help article.
Additionally, only one Twitter account can be linked per location. If you want to create multiple location posts, you will need to link a unique Twitter account to each location. Alternatively, if your business has one Twitter profile, we recommend linking to the corporate office, or primary location for the business.
Once you link your Twitter account with Yext, and assign the account to a location, it may take up to an hour for Twitter posting to become available in the Posting UI.
Update an Entity’s Linked Account
Because only one Twitter account can be linked per location, you may want to update the Twitter account that is associated with, or assign the account to a different location.
You have the ability to adjust the linked account that is associated with the entity at any time. For steps to update the entity’s linked account, vist our Update Linked Account Associated with an Entity help article.

Posting on Multiple Entities
In the Posting UI you can select multiple entities at a time, and post to multiple entities at once. However, each entity needs a unique linked Twitter account in order for posts to be created.
Also, note that posting exactly duplicate content across multiple accounts at once can lead to suspensions on Twitter. For this reason, we recommend utilizing embedded fields when making multi-entity posts.

only reflects views from the first 30 days of the tweet’s lifetime.

Post: List or Post: Get requests will both provide all metrics for the post.
Posting UI
Insights that are available in the Posting UI (likeCount
and retweetCount
) are visible in the post feed underneath each corresponding tweet. For example:
Report Builder
Insights are only currently available in the Posting UI or Social API. Social Insights will be available in Report Builder in a future release.
