This has already been solved but I wanted to share it here as I believe it is an interesting case that might help others as well.
A client of mine was having an issue with answers on their site where the map was not displaying in the locations vertical. This was strange because when I went to the answers-embed experience the map was functioning correctly. At first I thought it was a problem with how their search page was linked to the answers experience but then we verified everything was set up correctly there. Turns out that the issue is with the styling on the search page. The width of the answers container was too small to display the map! Even though this is something we cannot control in the answers experience, we are able to fix it since we control their whole search page.
