Answers Search Configuration Overview Module 4 Assessment

Hi HH team – I am working through the module assessment and see the hint “Hint: if you get a “Resource file is not a valid JSON object” error it means that you probably have a comma issue. Ask for help!”

I pasted the code to add a synonym into the search configuration but am seeing an error. What might the comma issue be?

Thanks so much!

Hey @Emily_Karl ,

Congratulations on the first post, welcome to the community!

I took a look into your account and it looks like there was an extra { in line 47 of your code. I’ve found that the expand/collapse functionality in the Answers config file is extremely helpful to ensure that the {} symbols match up.

As you can see in the screenshot below, when you hover over the left hand side of the search configuration file, you’ll notice an accordion icon.

If you click the accordion, the content in the configuration file will collapse the content within the bracket that you selected. For example, by selecting the accordion button next to ‘Verticals’, you’ll collapse all of the content within the Verticals object (image below).

As you can see, there appears to be an extra { in line 47. Try removing that bracket and clicking save!

Hope this was helpful.

Thanks,
Austin
