Default display results with no Query input?

I have an client who wants to basically add a default search for Universal. They are iframing into a standalone page, but they want all the FAQ results to surface at the get-go. I am trying to think of a way to do this where I don’t have “FAQs” in the searchbar but we can still surface results for a blank searchbar.

I could pin the results for a " " query? I don’t know if you could pin a saved query for a space.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi Jessie,

The best way to accomplish this is to link to the search page with a query param already in the URL (like “FAQ”). We wouldn’t suggest actually having a search input present on the main site, but a button that just links to the search page with param appended should do the trick.

This isn’t a native feature in Answers, in part because the concept of “Showing all” on universal search is a little tenuous – it might not make sense for all verticals, and also gets trickier with third party backends.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

Thanks Rose!

For anyone in the future looking at this, I also wanted to go ahead and link a similar post on this subject here.
