Do we have any best practices for optimizing search quality when location is blocked?

Hi Team,

We have an Answers experience that defaults the user’s location to Pretty Prairie, Kansas when location sharing is not turned on for the browser. I understand this the default location for our Answers experience when there is no location.

However, for “Locations near me”, the top location displayed is in Arkansas because it is the closest location to Pretty Prairie Kansas. We would like to update this experience as users who have location blocked are only seeing locations near Kansas and it is not an ideal experience.

Do we have any suggestions on how to improve this? Is it possible to re-ask the user to share location or to potentially share a message that indicates that the location is blocked? Thank you!

Best,
Janet
