Is it possible to set a third-party field as a facet for the Links vertical?

Hello,

Is it possible to set a field coming through from a third-party search engine as a facet?

My client is using Algolia for their Links vertical. The Algolia API passes us a type field as part of each search result. The type is either text, PDF or video.

I’ve successfully added the field to be displayed on the links card. Now I’d like to add it as a facet on the the corresponding vertical page. However, when I copy the usual code from standard KG verticals and click ‘Save’, the search config doesn’t actually save:

Can you let me know if this is something that can be done? The client would like to mirror and ultimately replace their current Algolia site search. It would be huge if we were able to include this feature!

Any questions, please let me know.

Thanks,
Max

Hi Max,

Unfortunately advanced features like Facets are only available for Knowledge Graph backends. Your approach of adding the type field to the card sounds like a good solution!

For content that customers want to filter and more thoroughly search, we recommend they port this in as entities in the Knowledge Graph.
