Page Builder - Favicon not showing in SERP

Hi!
We added a favicon in html header and now it is shown on browser’s tabs.

However it is not shown on Google SERP results.
According to Google, Favicon must be hosted in the same domain that its page is hosted.

Is there any way to host an image in the subdomain ?
I mean …

Page: sub. domain. com /page (Of course sub. domain. com is bridged to Yext)
Favicon: dynl. mktgcdn. com /favicon.ico

Is it possible to upload an image to sub. domain. com/favicon.ico ?

Many thanks.

Team,

I’ve set up your site to host favicons under the main domain. See here: https://somos.sportium.es/monitor.png

I did this using the Custom Development tool.

To add your own favicon, please follow these steps:

  1. Open “View Code Editor”
  2. Click into the master branch
  3. Open the “/desktop” folder and upload you favicon file
  4. Commit your changes in the UI
  5. Navigate to the Production Environment – you will see an option to VIew Environment
  6. Choose to create a New Publish
  7. When your publish is complete, your favicon will be hosted at “somos.sportium.es/”
  8. You can then include this link in your Page Builder template

Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you @Gideon_Weiler .

We tried but we are having troubles uploading the file, it is returning an error.
Please contact me if you need additional account information.

Hi @Lolo_Riazzo ,

Taking a look at this now - I will keep you updated shortly!

Best,
Luc

Hi @Lolo_Riazzo ,

This is all set - https://somos.sportium.es/favicon.png!
I added an extra parameter to your configuration file, which was preventing your publish from completing. Moving forward, you should be able to follow Gideon’s directions for any other images you wish to publish without issue!

Best,
Luc

Thank you! that sounds good. Please allow us to verify the process before closing the thread. I will inform you as soon as possible.

Hi Team,

@Luc_Yuki_Marrie we need the same thing set up for another account.
Can you assist?

Best,
Maria

Hi Maria,

I went ahead and took care of that for you!
When your client is ready to publish their site and upload their images, please ensure they follow the same directions that Gideon provided earlier. I.e.

  1. Open “View Code Editor”
  2. Click into the master branch
  3. Open the “/desktop” folder and upload the desired images
  4. Commit your changes in the UI
  5. Navigate to the Production Environment – you will see an option to “VIew Environment”
  6. Choose to create a New Publish
  7. When your publish is complete, your images will be hosted at your domain
  8. You can then include this link in your Page Builder template

Note, your client can reference any images they include in the desktop folder in their page builder templates, but they will not work until they publish their Site (at which point, the contents of the desktop folder are hosted).

Best,
Luc

Hi @Luc_Yuki_Marrie , I think we need some extra parameters on our configuration file since we got this error

Please, can you check it?

Hi Lolo,

This is all set! (I can confirm this works because the favicon loads at your staging URL (click your staging URL, then add “favicon.ico” to the end of the URL).

I went ahead and published this favicon on production as well, so you can now access the favicon at your domain name as well.

Best,
Luc

Thank you very much, we will check it out
