Automatic License Assignment via Saved Filters
This feature allows you to automatically assign or remove licenses from an entity based on the criteria in a saved filter.
Setting this up is a multi-step process. You first need to determine the criteria for your Saved Filter. We recommend creating a unique Yes/No custom field for each license pack, so you can designate “Live on Listings”, “Live on Reviews”, or “Live on Pages” for each entity in addition to any other saved filter criteria.
Once your saved filter is configured with the proper criteria, you will navigate to the Licenses Pack page in your account as Assign the relevant saved filter to a license pack. This will automatically assign licenses to current entities that meet the criteria, as well as entities that are added to the filter later. Entities that are removed from the filter will automatically have their licenses removed.
How This Impacts You
This update eliminates the need for manual assignment and removal of licenses. You can simply set up your desired criteria, and licenses will be added or removed from entities accordingly.
To further automate this process, you can leverage the Scheduled Updates feature to update an entity to meet the filter criteria at a date in the future, which will trigger a license assignment.
Feature Availability
To turn on this feature in your account, navigate to Account Settings > Account Features and select Summer ‘23: Automatic License Assignment via Saved Filters (early access).
This functionality is only available to customers leveraging licenses so it is not relevant to Resellers that use SKUs to assign service.
