I’m setting up professionals for retail bank and their MLOs/professional work out of multiple locations. I created a custom entity lookup (c_relatedBranches) while using their primary location for the OOB address. I also have a custom “Location City” field (c_locationcity) to help with the search quality while using an embedded field. I know we can’t use the related location addresses for Answers, but was hoping to use the custom city field to surface professionals when the specific city for a related branch is mentioned in the query (I.e. “MLOs near Englewood”). When I try to add the related branches location city field to the search config, it says it’s an invalid config, although if I just change it to .name it works. thoughts or the best way to config this?
Hi Tim,
You can only use the related entities name for searchable fields. You can read about linkedEntity.name in this module: Vertical Searchable Fields | Hitchhikers.
Thanks,

Thanks Liz!
To address the use case, would you move the additional locations to a text list with just the location city and state? They don’t want duplicate entities for the MLOs as we would typically do with listings.
Hi Tim,
This is something we typically figure out as part of the implementation and is dependent on a number of different factors. Are you building a demo or a production-level experience?
Thanks,
Liz
Its for an AFT (Investors) that I’m shadowing Brian W. on. I’ll sync up with him and get the necessary guidance internally if necessary. Thank you.
