Hi HHs,
I’m working on answers implementation where we want to have one experience on a marketing site for prospects and another experience on a technical site geared more for current clients. We have 4 verticals on the marketing site but only want to use three of them for the technical site. Is it possible to hide an entire vertical with query rules? We don’t want users on the technical site seeing the vertical geared for prospects at all.
Thanks,
Johnathon
Hey Johnathon,
That’s a great question.
If you want to use one experience, you can try using query rules (e.g., requireIntent) so that the vertical is only returned in certain scenarios. However, this means that it would be visible in the navigation as a tab at all times. You could choose to have the vertical hidden in the navigation always by updating the frontend. So - it’s a trade-off – you either have the navigation visible always or never.
Alternatively, you can manage these as separate experiences. If you think there will be more divergences, this might be the safer choice, though it will mean more duplicative work if they make a lot of changes.
Thanks,
Liz
