The challenge instructions mention selecting “Restaurants” and “Events” entity type after clicking “Continue” at the name input modal.
1. Navigate to Search and click on the All Search Experiences screen.
2. Click Create Search Experience. Enter the experience name as “Brand Search” (this is case sensitive!). The experience key will automatically fill in as “brand-search”. Click Continue.
3. For the entity types, only select Restaurants and Events. Then click Create Experience.
But in the Challenge environment, the only option in that modal is “Save” which proceeds directly to creating the experience without selecting any entities. As such, entering the word “restaurant” in the Test Search input field yields no results.
You can continue by saving the experience from here. Then, You can access the experinced you created for control/manage the Configuration. Search Config Overview | Hitchhikers (feel free to access the URL for help).
From there you will be able to add Entity Types as needed.
This helped as I was able to figure out that the entities can be selected in the Verticals section. As I went further in the challenge, I found more inconsistencies and felt that the documentation from the module seems to be outdated. Some elements such as Edit as JSON can no longer be found in the configuration screen. I found out that the discrete “code view” link in the description under the Edit Configuration header is now the link to the editor.
Hope they can update the course documentation with the latest UI of the sandbox.
