A client has an Answers Experience built to only surface information about the specific location the experience is on (the search bar is implemented on location pages and this is set in context). This is a non-negotiable feature as franchisees are competitors of each other, so they don’t want to surface content from nearby locations.
However, they’re getting a lot of locator-centric queries from users who then aren’t being delivered useful information and are likely bouncing elsewhere / resorting back to Google. One way we’ve thought about solving this is by adding a banner that is like a promotion entity for all location-based searches that would basically say “Looking for a location near you?” with a CTA to the locator page.
That being said, how can we have this pinned promotion banner surface for ANY location-based search (i.e. zip codes, addresses, cities, etc)? We’ve thought of using query rules like regex, but not sure how exactly we’d go about this.
