Step 6: Create a Locator
Locators are interactive maps and search experiences designed to help users find the nearest location.
The locator component simplifies creating a locator, eliminating the need to configure a separate Search experience. You can search by city, zip code, current location, or by moving the map area. The locator displays a map alongside a list of locations within the map area. Each listed location includes call to actions for ‘Get Directions’ and ‘View More Information,’ linking directly to your dedicated location pages.
Build a Locator
If you did not generate a locator when you added a page group, you can go back to do so:
- Navigate to Pages > [[Site Name]] > Page Groups.
- Click the menu icon in the row of the page group for which you want to generate a locator.
- Select Create Locator.
- Confirm you want to create a locator.
After deployment, an additional page group for the locator will appear. The locator page group functions just as other page groups. Click Edit Layout to preview the locator. You can edit the locator component from here. The only property you can update is the map style. Click on Preview Changes or View Live Site to open the page in a new tab and test out the locator functionality.
