Introduction | Yext Hitchhikers Platform
After monitoring and response, the next step to creating a great reviews management program is proactively asking for feedback. Review Generation allows you to reach out to your customers to request authentic first-party and third-party reviews for most publishers other than Yelp. You can add first-party reviews to your website to enhance your website experience. Third-party reviews will be added to the publisher site the review is requested for, such as Google or Facebook.
Generating reviews helps you cast a wider net and reach out to all of your customers for feedback. Increasing your review volume can have significant benefits, such as an increased click-through rate and higher ranking in Google. Additionally, generated reviews on average have a higher star rating than organic reviews.
This guide will walk you through the steps to set up review generation. At a high level, this looks like:
- Assign licenses to entities. To generate reviews, each entity will need an assigned license from the Ultimate package or Review Generation add-on.
- Specify which sites to collect reviews on by setting up the review balancing algorithm. We recommend prioritizing Google reviews, but you can decide what this means for your brand.
- If you want to publish reviews to your website, you can generate first-party reviews.
- Optionally adjust other review generation settings.
- If you want to publish reviews to your website, you can generate first-party reviews.
- Set up templates. Choose built-in templates or customize your own. There’s a default template if you want to skip this step and speed up the process.
- Send invitations. Invite everyone you have collected an email or phone number from to write a review. Display QR codes in stores and on receipts to reach those you don’t have an email or phone number from. The wider a net you can cast, the better your chances of collecting a true average rating.
- Monitor metrics. Adjust and optimize your review generation strategy based on what you find.
- (Optional) Publish reviews on your site. We recommend publishing generated first-party reviews on your site, as they won’t be published elsewhere.
If you’re trying to get up and running as quickly as possible, you just need to do steps 1: assign licenses to entities, 2: specify the review balancing algorithm, and 4: send invitations.
