Step 1: Prepare Your Publisher Accounts
In order to sync data from Yext to your major publisher accounts, you will need to:
- Make sure your account with each publisher is set up to sync with Yext
- Gather key information that you will need during the launch process
Yelp accounts do not require any additional preparation. This section will walk through the steps to prepare your Google Business Profile, Facebook, and Apple accounts to link to Yext.
Google Business Profile
To prepare your Google Business Profile (GBP) account, you will need to:
- Confirm your account credentials
- Organize your location groups
- Check eligibility for Google bulk verification
- Grant Yext access to manage your location groups
Confirm your account credentials
To link your GBP account to Yext, you will need GBP credentials with Owner-level access.
Organize your location groups
Your locations must be added to location groups within Google Business Profile in order to sync to Yext. See Google’s Make a business group help article for steps to create a group and add locations.
Check eligibility for Google bulk verification
If your business has 10 or more locations, you may be eligible for bulk verification with Google. If your account is eligible and you have not gone through this process with Google already, it’s best to start this as soon as possible.
See the Bulk Verification for Google Business Profile help article for full details on this process.
Grant Yext access to manage your location groups
We recommend granting Yext access to your organization’s location groups in Google. This will allow Yext to help you troubleshoot if needed once the accounts are linked. To do this, follow the steps in the Grant Yext Access to Manage Your Google Business Profile Location Groups help article.
To prepare your Facebook account, you will need to:
- Confirm your account credentials
- Get your Brand Page ID (if you have one)
Confirm your account credentials
To link your Facebook account with Yext, you will need to have one of the following:
- Admin-level access for each location page you would like to launch, or
- Admin-level access for the brand page for your Facebook account, if your Facebook page is set up in a location structure format.
Get your Brand Page ID
If your account is not set up in a brand page or location page structure, you can skip this step.
If you have a brand page structure, you will need to make sure you have the Brand Page ID ahead of the launch process. This will be used to validate that you have access to the brand structure within the account. For steps to access your Brand Page ID, visit the Find Your Facebook Page ID article in the Meta Business Help Center.
Apple Business Connect
To prepare your Apple account, you will need to:
- Choose how to connect to Yext
- Check your Business IDs (optional)
Choose how to connect to Yext
There are two options to connect your Apple account to Yext:
- Link your own Apple Business Account to Yext. This option is recommended as it also enables you to see Apple analytics and create Apple Showcase posts, and enables Apple to prioritize the data coming from Yext. Note that only accounts with 25 or more locations are eligible to connect Apple accounts to Yext.
- Use Yext’s Apple account. This option is available for accounts with fewer than 25 locations.
The process of linking an Apple account is done during the Listings Launch flow. For more information on connecting your Apple account, see the Link Apple Business Connect with Yext guide.
Check your Business IDs (optional)
During the launch process, you’ll need to select the appropriate Apple Business ID for each country. If you like, you can go through your Business IDs now to confirm which ID corresponds to each country.
