Step 3: Select Search Tracker Keywords
Now, you need to select the keywords that you would like to track in Search Tracker. There are two fields that you can configure to do this: Location Keywords and Custom Keywords.
For recommendations on what keywords to pick for your locations, see the How do I pick the right keyword? FAQ.
Location Keywords
- Name will add the name field of the location(s) to Search Tracker by default. If the name of your locations includes a branded term, you should keep that in mind when evaluating the Search Tracker metrics that you see down the line (see the How do I pick the right keyword? FAQ).
- Primary Category will add the Primary Google Category as a keyword if it is available. Note that the Primary Google Category is often slightly different from the category field shown in Yext
Custom Keywords
In the Custom Keywords field, you can add up to five custom keywords to include in searches. This is where you have the freedom to decide the search queries that you care most about for your locations’ search performance.
Keywords are limited to 100 characters, and must be entered one per row.
