Set up Search Tracker
Setting up Search Tracker and entering your competitors are key to help you measure how frequently your business appears in knowledge cards, local packs, and organic results.
To get started:
- Click Content in the navigation bar and click Entities.
- Click into the desired entity.
- You can also do this in bulk by editing multiple entities at once if the information will be the same across your brand.
- Click Search Tracker in the left sidebar.
- Add in all of the fields outlined below
Search Tracker Enabled
This enables the Search Tracker under Analytics. This must be set to Yes otherwise the Search Tracker will not be turned on for the entity in question.
Search Tracker Frequency
Select how often you would like the Search Tracker to scan various search engines to get data on your local search performance. You can select between:
- Weekly
- Monthly
- Quarterly
Location Keywords
Select the checkboxes next to Name, Primary Category, and Secondary Category to include the business name and categories in searches.
Custom Keywords
Add up to five additional keywords to include in searches. Be sure you enter one per text box.
Query Templates
Select up to four query templates that you would like applied in searches.
For example, if you select Keyword City as the query template, and one of your Keywords was Mexican food, and they had a location in San Francisco, the query would look like: Mexican Food San Francisco.
Alternate Websites (Optional)
By default, Search Tracker will look for your Website URL, and Alternate URL in the search results, based on the fields for that location in Content.
However, there are two fields that you can use to expand what other results Search Tracker will consider a match with your location: Alternative Names and Alternative Websites.
Add up to three alternate website domains that you use for your business.
Alternate Names (Optional)
By default, Search Tracker will look for your location’s name in the search results, based on the fields for that location in Content.
However, you can also add up to three alternate names that are used for your business, or any common misspellings.

Select the search engines where you would like to track your performance.
When you’ve entered in this information, your Search Tracker fields should look something like this:
