What are the differences between Dual Sync and Submission Integrations?
What differentiates our two integration types is not whether it’s via API or Feed, but whether our integration is one-way or two-way. As we mentioned, Yext always prefers two-way integrations, but there are circumstances where the publisher cannot support this. Most often, the publisher’s receiving systems are just not designed to send data back to us. Over time, our Data Partnership team works with these publishers to negotiate for better integrations and helps our Partners advocate internally for more resources to build better endpoints. We’ll keep you updated as any integrations improve over time.

This table outlines the eligible functionality per integration type. However, it is important to note that not all Dual Sync publishers support all of these capabilities.
You can see the distinction of which publishers are considered Dual-Sync or Submission on the All Listings screen in the Platform based on the listing statuses. In the table, Submission publishers will have the “Submitted” status. Dual-Sync publishers have more details — they will either be “Synced”, “Processing”, or “Not Synced” along with additional status details as to why the listing isn’t synced and steps that can be taken to fix it.
