Publishers Screen | Yext Hitchhikers Platform
What You’ll Learn
In this section, you will learn:
- What can be found on the Publishers screen
What is the Publishers Screen
The Publishers screen can be found by clicking Listings in the navigation bar and clicking Publishers. It’s designed to show you all of the publishers within our Knowledge Network. You can even click on a specific publisher and see more information, such as a brief description about the publisher, affiliated publishers, each listing status on that publisher, and more.
Analytics
At the top of the screen, you’ll find hero numbers with the most important insights for Listings. Here you can see a summary of your Listings, such as, the number of Publishers you are synced with, how many listings you have, and the status of all of your listings, such as Synced, Processing, Not Synced, and Opted Out.
Publishers
In the middle of the screen, you’ll see a list of publishers. You can use the filter at the top of the list to filter for specific publishers. You can also click on a specific publisher’s logo to navigate to the Publisher’s Detail Page and see a breakdown of listing statuses for this specific publisher.
Publisher Alerts
On this page you may also see alert icons next to a publisher’s name. These alerts will tell you if a publisher is experiencing an outage or another widespread technical problem. You can hover over the icon for more information.
If you click on the icon, you will be taken to the Publisher’s Details Page, where you can see an alert banner at the top of the page with even more information.
We recommend checking for Publisher Alerts before escalating any publisher-related issues to support, as there may already be a known outage or delay on that publisher.
Publisher Details
When you click on a publisher in the list you will be taken to the Publisher’s Details Page. On this page you can see a description of the publisher, affiliated publishers, and the listings on the publisher. You can also filter for listings on the specific publisher using the filter bar. If you need to take action on any of the listings, you can use the button next to the desired entity, or click on the drop-down button to see more options.
Publisher Configuration
With certain publishers, such as Google, Facebook, and Yelp, you have the option to enable or disable the sync of certain fields and change the default mapped field for a given publisher field.
Some examples include:
- Turning sync off for the Photo Gallery field so you don’t sync photos to Facebook
- Updating the Mapped Field to sync a custom Description field to Google instead of the default description field.
To view the publisher configurations, click on the Configuration tab on the Publishers Details Page.
Once you’re on the Configuration tab, simply click on the desired field. From here you can choose whether or not you want to pass that field to the publisher by clicking on the radio button to turn syncing of that field On or Off.
For eligible fields you can also update the mapping of what field you would like to send to the publisher in the Mapped Field. The drop-down menu will display all eligible fields of that type. If the drop-down is grayed out, you cannot override the field mapping for that field.
You can map to custom fields. To learn more about creating a custom field, check out the Custom Fields unit .
