In this section, you will learn:
- Learn what compliance settings are and how to change them
What are GDPR and compliance settings?
GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation and it was implemented in 2018 in EU law for data protection and privacy. Yext has three main components of compliance that you can enable for GDPR. By toggling these on, you will be able to anonymize user data that is collected for areas such as 1st Party Reviews or Social Posts. This will only apply if you are using a feature that falls within GDPR jurisdiction.
How do you set these compliance settings?
Just as with account features, you will see Compliance on the Account Settings page, and you can enable or disable the settings like so:
When you enable the setting you will also notice you have the option to choose the amount of time (e.g., 6, 12, 24 months), after which you would like to anonymize user data. This entails obfuscating the reviewer’s name and email address. This removes any user data from our platform as per GDPR after the specified time period.
