Home Screen Overview | Yext Hitchhikers Platform

What You’ll Learn

In this section, you will learn:

  • What a Home Screen is
  • How to turn on Home Screens in your account

Overview

The Home Screen is a dashboard to display the most critical information to each user’s account, and is the first page a user will see when they log into Yext. On the Home Screen, users will see modules such as analytics, quick links to relevant resources, reviews awaiting response, and search data.

Every account comes with one read-only, built-in Home Screen that will display for all users by default. You can also create custom Home Screens to use with the built-in Home Screen, or to replace it.

It’s important to keep in mind that the information displayed in Home Screen modules will be filtered to the data each user has access to. This means that if you create a Home Screen with a module to display all new reviews, a user who has access to view only 10 locations in the account will only see reviews for those 10 locations on their Home Screen.

Who can Manage Home Screens

Full Control or Account Manager user roles (as well as any custom user role with the Manage Home Screen permission) are the only users who can make adjustments to Home Screen, and they will configure the Home Screen based on the desired preferences for the account.

Multiple Home Screens

Depending on the nature of your account, you may have different user groups logging in, and the most relevant information to display will vary for each of these groups. In order to accommodate this, you have the ability to create multiple Home Screens. That way, you can adjust the audience so that certain Home Screens are only available to certain users, or users have the option to view multiple Home Screens if more than one may be relevant to them.

Turn on Home Screens

To get started, you will first need to enable the Home Screen Account Feature. To do this:

  1. Click on the profile icon at the bottom of the navigation bar and click Account Settings.
  2. On the Account Settings screen, click Account Features.
  3. Find the Home Screen feature, hover over it, and click the pencil icon.
  4. Toggle it to On and click Save.

Once you do this, you will see the Home icon appear at the top of the navigation bar, and you are ready to get started!
