Authenticated File and Image Hosting | Yext Hitchhikers Platform
What You’ll Learn
In this section, you will learn:
- Why authenticated file and image hosting is important to an authorized search experience
Overview
By default, files or images stored on entities in Yext don’t support authentication. When a file or image was uploaded to a field on an entity, Yext generates a publicly accessible URL to host that content.
Businesses who want to leverage authorized search experiences need to host content securely. This can be done using the Private URLs option on fields in Yext. When Private URLs are enabled for a field, Yext will generate a private URL to host the file and image content contained in that field.
Considerations for Private URL Hosting
There are a few requirements for authenticated file and image hosting with private URLs in Yext:
- This must be configured for each field individually.
- This option is available for custom fields of either the File or Rich Text v2 field type.
- This option is available only for newly-created fields, and cannot be modified after a field is created.
