Add built-in fields to existing entity types

Hi there,

I’m trying to edit the standard product entity type (add a short description to the product entity type) but it doesn’t let me add built-in fields to this entity type. Can you elaborate on the reason why this is not working?

I don’t want to create a copy of the entity type nor re-create existing fields as the existing entity type works best with Answers and the cards. What is your suggestion?

Hi Laura,

Great question! In general, built-in fields are created for specific built-in entity types to ensure compliance with our Listings publishers, as they often have strict guidelines around what information they can and cannot accept for different types of entities.

In this particular case, using the built-in Rich Text Description field on the standard product entity should work well!
