Strategy question regarding built-in Event entity type

Hi There -

I have a customer trying to get live and events are one of the verticals they picked (along with articles and FAQs). They want to add webinars, workshops, paid courses, etc. to the event entity type but the built-in entity type requires a date and some stuff that doesn’t necessarily pertain to the “event.” The paid courses do have dates and specific times but they’re wanting to add all types of events into that one vertical (mainly b/c they only get 3 entity types as an AFT).

Does anyone know if there is a way to make the date field optional in the built-in entity type so they can add more event types? If not, are there any other recommendations I haven’t considered?

Thanks so much,
John

Hi John,

My recommendation would be to create a custom entity type to accommodate for the date need and the use case here to be more flexible across the entity type.

Curious what others think - This is good feedback regarding the date requirement too!

Thanks,
Alyssa

Thanks, Alyssa! I had a feeling that would be the case but wanted to get feedback from the community to double-check. Appreciate the help!
