Can we pin a particular vertical that would surface for all queries? Context is that the NexGen team wants to drive more traffic to their “Jobs” vertical, so they want it to show all the time. The end goal would be to have the “Jobs” vertical always appear last, just left of “More” for non-job queries, and appear first for all job-related queries.
I’m not sure if some combination of a negative base score & boost value for all queries would work here or if we need a “searchTermMatchesRegex” query rule.

One way you can approach this is to use a query rule to bury the vertical. For example, you could set the searchType
to ALL
to cover all search queries. Then set the action as boost vertical intent with a negative boost. Keep in mind that these boosts are calculated separately from the algorithm ranking, meaning that the vertical would ALWAYS show at the bottom, even when there are relevant results."
