Consistency of Featured Snippet Card Results for Document Search

Hello,

With the new document search feature, is it expected behavior for only certain featured snippets to show at the top of the featured snippet card, as a title of sorts?

In the screenshots below, the first search shows the snippet at the top of the card, as well as highlighted in the body, while the second search does not show the snippet first thing at the top.

If this is expected behavior, is it based on the length of the extracted snippet?

Hey DJ,

Yes! This is expected behavior, based on the length of the extracted snippet. If the answer is beyond a certain length, we’ll simply return the snippet that it came from, with highlights. This design decision was inspired by Google search, where you’ll see the same sort of behavior:
