Consolidate Store Information

Hi Community… i work for an international company and we have store in several countries. How do you consolidate store information from all those countries? Do you have any best practices? (I.e. Store Opening Hours are changing almost everyday because of Covid and Lockdowns.)

Hi Joel,

This is a great question! We completely understand that gathering data from different markets, especially if the data management is decentralized.

There are a few different things we’d recommend if you don’t have your location data in a single database already:

  • Use Yext as a source of truth. You can give logins out to each country/market/region manager and they can upload or update the data in Yext for their geographic region themselves. They can use our Entity Upload or update the data manually.

  • Provide logins to all store managers globally so each store is responsible for managing their content. You can give them access to all fields, or you can only provide access for limited fields like just Hours and Photo Gallery for example. You could also have certain content changes flow through approvals, if you’d like.

  • Consolidate the data outside of Yext in a spreadsheet. You can use collaborative spreadsheet tools like Google Sheets.

  • Collect the data from each region and have your centralized team upload the data. This will put a larger burden on a central team but will minimize work for your other markets.
