I have a client that is integrating an Answers experience just for FAQs.
They want to place a link to “see all FAQs” on various parts of their website - so if their customer is on a “business checking” part of their website, they want the click to redirect them to our FAQ Answers search but with the “business checking” facet category already ticked off.
In order to do this, I sent over a list of URLs that accomplish this:
I simply appended the facet category within the URL.
However, the client raised an issue - when you go to that URL, the ticker is clicked, but the list of relevant FAQs to that facet filter are not impacted. Observe in the screenshot below that the FAQs say 1-20 of 297. Realistically, this should be 1-20 of a smaller number.
This previously wasn’t supported, but you can now pre apply filters from the URL with Answers Search UI version 1.8!
We’d love for you to try it out and let us know how it works for you. To confirm the format, you should upgrade your Theme and Answers Search UI version, then check out how the URL updates when you apply the filter. These params can be used to link to the experience pre-filtered.
