Language Recognition in Answers

I have a Canadian client who has an Answers experience in English, but we are seeing some French language queries in their analytics. While we are separately considering standing up a French language answers experience, the client was asking if in the meantime there was any backend logic that could detect if a query was in French and then show a banner or faq or something that would prompt those users to reach out to the office directly. I didn’t think there was any language recognition logic inherent to answers that could trigger these specific results. Has anyone else encountered this?

My current recommendation to the client is to add a banner to the search results page that tells customers (in French) that if they need assistance in French they should reach out to the following support channels. The only downside is this banner would be present for all searches, and the overwhelming majority of searches are in English so this may not be applicable for those users.

Hey Sarah - unfortunately we don’t have any way of auto-detecting the language of a query. While we don’t have anything specific on the short-term roadmap for this, it’s definitely something we plan on exploring in the future for use-cases like this.

Thanks, Max! Really appreciate it.
