Limit user permissions for language profiles

Hi team,

Is it possible to set a role to limit editing other language profiles?

For example, say 1 entity has 2 language profiles; English and Japanese. Is it possible to let user1 to edit only English, let user2 to edit only Japanese?

I could not find any settings like that for admin/roles section.

Hi Kaishi,

It is currently not possible to limit user’s edit access to specific language profiles as language profile-specific roles and permissions are not currently supported.

That being said, I understand how this capability would be useful for users. I do not anticipate that we will be able to address this in the immediate future, but we have added it to our backlog and will revisit this if we continue to see a need for this capability.

Thanks for your answer. Understood, we could tell this as a specification.

The use case is, client would have a multi-language answers across multiple countries, and they would let employees in each countries to edit entity data. But client do not want them to edit other country’s entity data.
We classify “countries” by language profiles, for example, “ja_JP” for Japan, “en_SG” for Singapore, and “en_US” for United States. Basically, employees who manages US product is not permitted to edit Singapore product by their rule.

That is why client asks us it is possible or not (and our answer should really affect their decision).
Hopefully we could handle this improvement for sure for the future release.
