Report Creation

Hello Hitchhikers, I am beginning to find it quite tedious to create reports each month for my clients, as to get the metrics I am bouncing between the Dashboard and Report Builder tabs. I have not been able to find any way to create one report that I can either export or screenshot to send to my clients individually without spending an hour or so per client report.

Is there a way to create a template report, or is there a way to make my life a little easier?

Thank you,
Nathan T

Hello @Nathan_Tea

I can understand your view on this. Have you tried the “Time range” feature on Report Builder panel to select “Last month” or “Last 30 days” range.?

You can check if it is available for the metrics you are using. Also, the option is only available when not selecting multiple metrics.

By selecting this Time Range, you must have last month or last 30 days data in report accordingly.

You can add “Comparing to” feature as well for comparing latest time period data with the previous period.

Hope it will help. If there is any more hurdles, feel free to share your experience here.

Hi Tosh, I have and that is what I currently use. I’m hoping to find a way to create an exportable report similar to a dashboard but with my metrics all shown where I can just select the entity and have it available.

I’m not sure if I’m missing something or if the feature that I’m looking for has not been implemented yet.

Hi @Nathan_Tea

For now sharing the data can be done by extracting the dashboard from Yext either via a PDF, sending it to a user via email, or via a specific share link.

You can share the exact dashboard that you are willing to share with your client via email. You will also need to provide the appropriate access to the user for being able to get the data on dashboard.
This method is intended for sharing the dashboard with people who do not log into the Yext account but will still derive value from the data.

Thank you @Tosh_B. I appreciate it.

Hi Nathan,

Digging into your issue a bit more, what is staying constant and what do you want to change between each report?

As Tosh mentioned, if you’re looking to share analytics with someone who does not have a Yext login, it’s easiest to share a dashboard via PDF or email.

If the insights you’re interested in are difficult to put on one report, we recommend creating a dashboard with multiple reports added. This can be your starting template. It sounds like you want to vary the timeframe and entities included. You can adjust the filters at the top of the dashboard to select a dynamic time frame and the set of relevant entities (select individually or by entity type, folder, or label).

Let me know if this entity filter is what you’re looking for. If you provide more detail on what you’re trying to do, we may be able to make other suggestions.
