Social Posting Comment Monitoring

Hey team,

We are working on creating the same social post across multiple locations in our account. With this project, it is possible that the users on Facebook suddenly start to leave a lot of comments under the social posts. For us, it is important to monitor the incoming comments. There are multiple options in Report Builder to add several Social Metrics, but comments is not one of them.
Within these reports we would also like to set up daily notifications, to stay updated on the activity.

Is it possible to add this feature, so that we can start monitoring the incoming comments? And is it also possible to receive daily notifications on the incoming comments?

Hi Romano,

We currently support monitoring comments made on posts to Facebook in the Social Post UI. However, you are correct that we do not currently surface this information in Report Builder, nor do we support notifications for new comments.

  1. We are hoping to put Social Posts data in the new Analytics DataHub at some point, but this work is not currently planned to be completed any time soon. Until we make this update, I don’t believe we’ll be able to make Post Comment metrics available in Analytics.
  2. We don’t plan to create a new notification type for Post Comments at this time. However, we are considering exposing a webhook for social posts, which would likely have an event for new post comments. Once we expose this webhook, it might be possible do something custom with our Platform Functions, which could allow a developer to write some TypeScript code to send an email when the webhook fires, which could be sufficient for a “notification” for the customer, depending on the use case.
