Timeline Learnings for Healthcare Clients

Hi,

For those familiar with implementing mid-sized healthcare clients - are there any key watchouts or learnings that I should consider as I build out initial timeline estimates? Particularly as it relates to any healthcare nuances around regulations, third party integrations, data quality, etc.

Thanks!

Hi Anna,

Great question! I am happy to share some insight into the healthcare vertical. I actually spend most of my time working in this space at Yext.

In terms of regulations, I would say that the most important consideration is HIPAA compliance. You can read more about HIPAA compliance here. There are checks in place within the Yext platform to ensure that we are properly configuring healthcare accounts and with consideration to HIPAA compliance regulations, so this is not a concern but rather something to be aware of.

Healthcare clients generally take much longer to get their initial data files to us, especially in the mid-market space. This is due to the fact that their provider and location data lives disparately in their systems, and the data is certainly not formatted in the format that we require for initial upload. You’ll typically see mid-sized healthcare clients gather data manually or send forms around across the org in order to populate the provider/location entities. It is tough to give a concrete timeline, but I would say (on average) the data gathering process is twice as long compared to other verticals.

For configuring the Knowledge Graph, I recommend reading through the best practices that @Liz_Frailey previously shared.

Once you have the data loaded and configured into the Knowledge Graph, it will be important to keep an eye on the Analytics coming from Answers and Pages. Healthcare clients are big on the “patient journey” and the “funnel”, and the ultimate measure of success is usually new patient acquisition and appointment bookings. I recommend setting up calls-to-action that align with their goals (most-likely the two I noted above) and then using Analytics to track that performance over time. It will be really easy to show the value of Yext as healthcare systems’ websites are usually pretty antiquated. We can show a ton of value in natural language processing, SEO, and conversion.

Hope this helps!
Sam
