Yext Suggestions

Hi Hitchhikers,

I’m getting notifications in our account that come from Yext Suggestions. Is that a new feature? And If so, what do those mean? Would I generally look to accept/decline the majority of these?

Thank you!

Content Suggestions can come from:

  • Your users - through Content Approvals
  • Third parties - through Publisher Suggestions like from our listings publishers Google, Facebook or Yelp
  • Yext Employees - called Yext Suggestions

These are all ways that we hope can make keeping your data up-to-date even easier, but we want to make sure that you approve any of these suggestions before they go live.

You can learn more about Suggestions overall in the training module.

Yext Suggestions were recently released as a new source so that our employees can suggest improvements to your data as we find them.

In terms of what to reject/accept, that’s up to you! You might find that certain sources are more accurate than others, and this will really vary customer to customer. We think it’s important to review these suggestions as they come in to make sure that you’re on top of your data. In the case of suggestions that come from Publishers, you’ll want to reject these to make sure that your data is taken preference over any user-generated data. You can review all suggestions in the “Knowledge Graph > Suggestions” tab in the platform.
