How to Manage Labels| Hitchhikers Platform
What You’ll Learn
In this section, you will learn:
- What a label is
- How to manage labels manually
- How to manage labels in bulk
What is an Entity Label
Labels are like tags that make it easy to search and find a specific set of entities. It is easy to create new ones and you should do so without reservation. You’ll find other types of labels throughout the platform as well, like Asset Labels or Review Labels. They all should behave similarly.
How to Manage Labels
You can create new labels in 2 ways:
On Entity Search screen, in the Labels module on the left-side navigation. You can then assign the label to entities via Entity Edit.
On an Entity, by entering a new unique label value. This both creates the label and assigns it to the entity or entities you’re editing.
Common Entity Label Use Cases
There are a lot of different reasons to use Entity Labels in the platform.
To easily access a set of entities that would otherwise be difficult to filter to
To easily access a set of entities outside of Knowledge Graph (e.g., on Reviews, Analytics, etc)
To keep track of entities that you need to do something with later, e.g., fix a data problem or add to a product
You can have up to 200 labels in your account and assigned to an Entity so we recommend using them liberally.
