Answers - "searchtermstring" Search Term

Hi Team,

My client has a custom report setup within report builder dimensioning “Search Term (Normalised)” by “Answers Searches”. In that report they’ve noticed the term "searchtermstring" showing in the table.

Is this a term generated on the Yext-end following a user taking a specific action, similar to "Unknown", or is a user actually just searching this query? I think it’s likely the former as diving into the “Search Logs” table I can see "{search_term_string}" within the logs, see screenshot below. Please can you shed a little light on what this is and why the actual term isn’t showing? Thanks!

Hey Unknown is only Search Term generated on the Yext-end, and that is only when no Search Term has been entered at all, so my theory here is that someone was doing some automated tested where they would replace {search_term_string} with the actual Search Term they were looking for to see what results were returned.

It’s possible for a few Search Terms they were testing for they forgot to replace it and that’s why this Search Term came through.
