Is it possible to specify in the “hours” field for location that certain days are only open “by appointment”? Ideally the card would show hours like so:
Monday: 7am - 9pm
Tuesday: By Appointment
Wednesday: 7am - 10pm
etc.

Thanks for the question, and if you haven’t gotten the answer to this already, please see below for some additional hours best practices we have for the Knowledge Graph!
We currently do not support specifying a single day as “By Appointment” for the built-in hours field. If a location has specific days that are appointment only, you should use the “Additional Hours Text” field to specify those details. The Knowledge Graph, as well as most publishers, requires that each day has its hours specified, so we usually recommend specifying the hours during which customers can set an appointment and then leveraging the additional text and/or description fields for additional appointment information.

Follow-up question please: So if we specify “Thursday, by appointment only” in the “Additional Hours” text field, will that be reflected in the Google search? I tried Googling my business, but it only showed that we were closed on Thursday.

Updates the content on Google will happen as soon the scheduled sync for listing will take place. From the moment you make the update in the platform, the update goes through a few systems both at Yext and at the Publisher before it displays on listing. Ones the sync process will complete successfully, the updated content will take place.

Hi Paul,
Google does not sync the “Additional Hours Text” field from Yext and also does not have the concept of appointments, so you will not see this reflected on your business listing in Google search.
To see which publishers accept this field, you can use this Publisher search and either run the query “Additional Hours Text” or select the field from the facet for Supported Fields on the left hand side.
