Configure Single Facets as "AND" vs. "OR" query

By default, it makes sense that a facet field is “OR” as I may be looking for a shoe that’s either blue or green. However, there are scenarios where clients want the filtered results to be based on multiple criteria for the same field. For example. an advisor who specializes in tax planning and retirement. Both of those values would be contained in the “speciality” picklist. Is that possible today?

Hey @Tim_Britten - this has come up a few times, and we are working with Answers Product Management to add “AND” functionality for a single facet field.

As of now, the short term solution is to create two facet fields such that the user can make two selections to further filter down the results. We will make sure to keep this post updated as we learn of a more concrete timeline for the single facet “AND” feature.

Best,
Sam

Hi @Sam_Torres ! I wanted to check in on this post as I have a similar ask. I am working on a recipes vertical with a facet for “dietary concerns,” where if someone were to select for example “vegan” and “gluten free,” they would want results that are both of those things, rather than at least one of them. I am currently using a text list for this facet. Are there any updates here or a workaround you’d suggest? Thanks!
