Q&A Component Question

I have an existing client that only has a Search experience. They want to implement the Q&A Component found within this module. Q&A Component | Hitchhikers

My question is, are we able to make modifications to this component so that the questions that are created by end-users get directed to the clients Zendesk application, by sending the questions to a specific email address that then will create the Zendesk ticket on the clients side??
