Reviews Statuses | Yext Hitchhikers Platform

The status of a review is shown in the platform in the Reviews Monitoring and Response tables. You can also find it in the Snowflake Data Sharing tables (see Reviews Data Dictionary ).

Possible values are Live (LIVE), Quarantined (QUARANTINED), or Removed (REMOVED).

Live

A status of Live means a review is published on a third-party reviews website or on your website if it’s a first-party review.

Only reviews with a Live status will be returned by the Streams API . Reviews with a Quarantined or Removed status will not be returned.

Quarantined

If you are generating first-party reviews, you can set a quarantine period up to 120 days to give your team time to review them before they go live on your website.

New first-party reviews will be marked with a Quarantined status for the duration of the quarantine period and show the number of quarantine days left.

When actioning on quarantined reviews, you can choose to approve a review sooner than that (changing the status to Live), remove a review (changing the status to Removed), flag a review for removal , or wait for the quarantine to expire (the status will automatically change to Live). If the review is flagged during quarantine it will remain in that state until the flag request has been reviewed.

Only reviews with a Live status will be returned by the Streams API . Reviews with a Quarantined status will not be returned.

Removed

Reviews that have been removed from the publisher site will show a status of Removed. There are multiple ways that a review can be removed:

  • The review author deletes their review.
  • The publisher removes the review.
    • Yext has a screening process for your first-party reviews that checks for inappropriate words. These will appear in the platform with a status of “Removed” and a descriptor “Banned Word”.
    • Third-party publishers have their own screening processes. Any third-party reviews that should be removed will need to be flagged directly to them.
  • You remove a first-party review in your Yext account. The review may be unrelated to the location or contain inappropriate content or spam.
    • Based on your user permissions, you have the ability to either remove a review directly or flag it for removal . This will raise it to your account admins and someone who does have permission to remove reviews will decide whether to keep or remove it.

You can configure the behavior of deleted reviews , with the option to either keep them in Yext with a “Removed” status or have them permanently deleted from the platform.
