Introduction | Yext Hitchhikers Platform

Overview

There are two ways to get started pulling data into Yext from Google Business Profile. You can either install one of Yext’s Google Business Profile Connector apps to import business data within our no-code and flexible connector framework. Or, you can create a Google Business Profile Connector using the Native Connector source.

Creating a Google Business Profile Connector using the Native Connector source requires some level of familiarity with Google’s Business Information APIs and some custom work, as it allows you to build your own custom connector from scratch.

This guide will walk you through the process of Installing a Google Business Profile Connector app to ingest your Google Google Business Profile data.

If you’d prefer to build a custom connector using the native Google Business Profile source, visit the Create a Google Business Profile Connector guide .

Match Entity IDs to Google Business Profile Store Codes

If you have existing data in your Yext account that you would like to enrich with data from your Google Business Profile account, make sure that the Entity IDs of the locations in your Yext account match the Store Codes in your Google Business Profile account. If this is not the case you will create new locations in your Yext account or add data to the wrong locations.

Ideal Connector Use Case

The ideal use case for the connectors at this time is for an initial, one-time data pull to populate Yext Content. You’re welcome to add a schedule to the connector if you’d like consistent data updates; however, note that there is no way to receive notifications about new or deleted entities, so be careful when launching or closing locations if your connector runs on a scheduled basis.
