Home Screen Overview| Hitchhikers Platform

What You’ll Learn

In this section, you will learn:

  • What a Home Screen is
  • How to turn on Home Screens in your account

The Home Screen is the first page users will see when they log into their Yext account. The Home Screen enables you to create a custom dashboard to display the information that is most critical to each user’s account.

Upon login, customers will be able to see modules such as analytics, quick links to relevant resources, reviews awaiting response, recent reviews, and more. The Home Screen can be customized to include the modules that you deem most relevant, and the information displayed will be filtered to the data that each user has access to.

It’s important to keep in mind that the information will be filtered to the data the user has access to. This means that if you create a Home Screen with a module to display all new reviews, a user who has access to view 10 locations in the account will only see reviews for those 10 locations in their Home Screen module.

Who can Manage Home Screens

Full Control, or Account Manager user roles (as well as custom user roles with the Manage Home Screen permission) are the only users who can make adjustments to Home Screen, and they will configure the Home Screen based on the desired preferences for the account.

Multiple Home Screens

Depending on the nature of your account, you may have different user groups logging in, and the most relevant information to display will vary for each of these groups. In order to accommodate this, you have the ability to create multiple Home Screens. That way, you can adjust the audience so that certain Home Screens are only available to certain users, or users have the option to view multiple Home Screens if more than one may be relevant to them.

Turn on Home Screens

To first get started, you will need to enable the Home Screen Account Feature. To do this:

  1. Hover over your name in the top right corner and click Account Settings.
  2. Click Account Features in the sidebar.
  3. Toggle Home Screen to On and click Save.

Once you do this, you see the Home tab appear in the top navigation bar, and you are ready to get started!
