Yext AI Search for WordPress allows you to create, customize, and embed your Search experience onto your WordPress site.

Regardless of how familiar you are with Yext products, this guide will walk you through all of the required steps, including:

  • Pulling your posts, pages, and media from WordPress into Yext
  • Pulling custom entity types (optional)
  • Authenticating into private WordPress sites (if necessary)
  • Adding your WordPress data onto an already existing Search experience (if necessary)
  • Downloading the Yext AI Search plugin on WordPress
  • Embedding and publishing Search onto your WordPress sites

Search: Yext Search is a multi-algorithm search engine that sits on top of Yext Content. When going to Search in the navigation bar, you can view the Overview screen, which is a powerful way to understand the value that your Search experience is driving to your business, and the All Experiences screen to dive deeper into each experience and manage your Search Configuration.

Content: This is where you can manage all of the entities and content about your brand that feed into your Search experience. One of the most important things you can do is keep your content up-to-date.

Pages: In Pages, you can manage the frontend of your Search experience results page. This is where you modify things like styling, result cards or vertical layouts.

These products work together to help you build an amazing search experience – the Search configuration and algorithm help to determine how results are selected and the frontend determines how results are displayed. Both sit on top of the Content.

Now that you’re familiar with the key parts of the platform, we’re going to walk you through how to build out your Search experience for WordPress.

If you did not sign up for the WordPress Free Trial and are using a Playground account, applying the WordPress Solution Template as a first step will provide you with a starting structure for your account (including the Content setup and a Search frontend and search config) that you can then customize with your brand’s content and styling. You can learn more about Solution Templates by checking out the Solution Templates and the Admin Console track .

While this guide will include each step you need to know to setup your experience, along the way we’ll link out to deep-dive trainings on each topic if you want to keep learning later.
