Enhanced Content Lists (Menus, Products, Services, Bios) - Hidden ECLs Expected Functionality

Hi Hitchhikers Community,

Can anyone explain what happens when you hide an ECL (e.g. Menu) in the Knowledge Graph? For example, does hiding a menu remove the menu data from listings altogether? If not, how can we delete menu ECLs from listings?

For context, I hid a menu in Yext, but the menu is still displaying on Google mobile listings. I checked GMB but could not see the menu tab in the desktop version.

Let me know!

Best,
Kava

Hi Kava,

Removing a menu in Yext does not remove it from the associated Google My Business listing, so what you’re seeing is expected behavior with our GMB integration. To remove that menu, you would have to log in to your GMB account.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Morgan! I checked this Help Center article, which says the following:

This article covers how to hide a content list to temporarily remove it from your listings and widgets, without dissociating it from your entities. Hiding a list will not delete it from your account.

I understand that GMB doesn’t remove hidden Yext menus, but what about other publishers that support ECLs? Will hiding the menu in Yext hide the menu from those sites, or does it depend on the publisher?

Thanks again for your input - I really appreciate it!
