Facebook Permissions | Yext Hitchhikers Platform
Overview
When linking a Facebook account to Yext, certain permissions must be granted in order for Yext to sync listing data, pull reviews and analytics into the platform, and enable Knowledge Assistant.
Below are the different types of permissions Yext uses with linked Facebook accounts, as well as details on how they are used.
Listings, Reviews, Social, and Analytics

Knowledge Assistant
Knowledge Assistant allows you to update your holiday hours, add photos, and respond to reviews in Yext via Facebook Messenger. When a user sets up Knowledge Assistant in Yext, the following actions are taken:
- Facebook grants Yext permission to communicate with a user through Facebook Messenger
- Facebook grants Yext access to the user’s Public Profile
- Yext stores the Name field from the Public Profile under Account Settings > Personal Settings
- Yext logs chat history between the user and Knowledge Assistant.
If you do not wish to receive communications from Knowledge Assistant, you may opt out under Account Settings > Personal Settings in Yext.
