Holiday Hours on Publishers | Yext Hitchhikers Platform
This reference details how holiday hours are handled on Google, Facebook, Apple, Bing, and Yelp.
In general, we recommend adding holiday hours to locations at least seven days in advance. Holiday Hours should not be used to communicate temporary closures.

- Holiday hours can be added any amount of time in advance.
- Holiday hours appear on listings the week of the holiday.
- Holiday hours will show in the regular “Hours” section.
- Not specifying holiday hours can cause orange text to appear suggesting the hours may be wrong on a holiday.

Apple
- Holiday hours must be added at least 72 hours in advance of the holiday.
- Holiday hours appear the week of the holiday.
- Apple will show holiday hours in a separate section from regular hours. The dates of the week will be noted above the holiday hours.
Bing
- Holiday Hours can be added up to a year in advance.
- If holiday hours have not been explicitly added to an entity profile but there is a widely recognized holiday, Bing will add a banner that reads “[[HOLIDAY]], hours may vary”
- Bing will display the crossed-out original hours with the modified hours and “Special hours [[DATE]]” in green lettering.
- Closed days will display the crossed-out original hours with “Closed [[DATE]]” in red lettering below.
Yelp
- Holiday hours can be added any time in advance of the holiday.
- Holiday hours appear the week of the holiday.
- Holiday hours are displayed as Special Hours.
