Holiday Hours allow you to specify your business hours on days with an irregular schedule, like holidays or special events. You can add them to your listings by using the Hours (Holiday Hours) field within your entities.

Below we will discuss the recommendations for adding holiday hours to major publishers including Google, Facebook, Apple, Bing, and Yelp.

Google

• Holiday Hours can be added any amount of time in advance (even 1+ year) but we recommend adding them at least 7 days in advance.
• Holiday hours appear the week of the holiday.
• There isn’t a separate “Holiday Hours” section, but the new/holiday hours will show in the regular “Hours” section.
• Not specifying holiday hours can cause orange text to appear suggesting the hours may be wrong on a holiday.

Facebook

• Holiday Hours can be added any time before the holiday, but we recommend adding them 7 days in advance.
• Holiday hours appear the week of the holiday.
• There isn’t a separate “Holiday Hours” section, but the new/holiday hours will show in the regular “Hours” section.

Apple

• Holiday hours appear the week of the holiday.
• There can be a delay when updating Apple content so holiday hours must be added at least 72 hours in advance of the holiday. However we recommend adding them at least 7 days before the holiday.
• Holiday Hours fields should not be used to communicate temporary closures.
• Apple will show holiday hours in a separate section from regular hours. The dates of the week will be noted above the holiday hours.

Bing

• Bing will accept forthcoming holiday hours up to a year in advance.
• We recommend adding holiday hours at least two weeks early.
• If holiday hours have not been explicitly added to the profile but there is a widely recognized holiday, Bing will add a banner that reads “[[HOLIDAY]], hours may vary”
• Bing will display the crossed-out original hours with the modified hours and “Special hours [[DATE]]” in green lettering. Closed days will display the crossed-out original hours with “Closed [[DATE]]” in red lettering below.

Yelp

• Holiday hours appear the week of the holiday.
• Holiday hours can be added any time in advance of the holiday, but we recommend adding them at least 7 days before the holiday.
• Holiday hours are displayed as Special Hours.
