Overview

The sync settings for Listings can be viewed on the Listings Configuration screen (Listings > Configuration). These settings include the specified Alternate Brand Name field, and settings for opting-in, updating listings, and creating new listings across various publishers.

Settings specified in Listings Configuration apply to all listings in the Yext account. Configuration settings are applied on a point-in-time basis (i.e., changes to configuration settings will affect all listings on the account from the moment they are applied, but these changes will not retroactively remove any existing live listings).

Matching

Store additional information that is needed to search for and match any existing listings to your business. If a custom field has been set up to store alternate brand names earlier, this field should be selected in the Alternate Brand Names Field dropdown.

Sync Settings

Designate which publishers to opt into, and select settings for how listing creation and listing updates should be handled across publishers. These settings will all be enabled by default.

Publishers

Sync settings can be configured for the following publishers:

• Google Business Profile
• Facebook
• Apple
• Bing
• Yelp
• Generative AI Publishers (i.e., OpenAI)
• Extended Publisher Network

Automatically Opt In

When enabled, this setting will automatically start syncing entity data to the selected publisher as soon as a license is assigned to the entity.

If disabled, listings will start in an “opted-out” status. This means there will be no connection between entities and the selected publisher.

Listings will not begin syncing with the selected publisher until they are opted-in. This can be done two ways:

• Enabling the Automatically Opt In setting in Listings Configuration to opt in all listings to the selected publisher
• Manually opting-in individual listings to the selected publisher (by selecting Opt In under the three-dot hamburger menu on a listing from the All Listings page)

Update Listings

This setting determines whether Yext will push data from the selected publisher to Listings during the initial sync for a listing, if an existing match is identified for that listing.

When this setting is enabled, the first time a listing syncs with the selected publisher, Yext will receive data back from the publisher and apply any changes to the listing.

Once the listing is live and synced, any updates made to the corresponding entity in Yext Content will automatically get pushed to Listings.

Create Listings

When enabled, this setting will automatically create new listings on the selected publisher when Yext cannot identify an existing listing match.

If this setting is disabled, new listings for the selected publisher will need to be confirmed manually before they are created.

Confirm Sync

If either of the Update Listings or Create Listings sync settings are disabled, any affected listings will be tagged with an Issue of Confirm Sync. They will remain in a status of Not Synced until they are manually confirmed to sync with the publisher.
